Co-host of “Bachelor Pad” and former contestant on “The Bachelor” Melissa Rycroft is expecting her first child in February 2011.
Melissa is celebrating her journey into motherhood with other mothers all around America by hosting an all-day Fall Baby Shower on Nickelodeon’s ParentsConnect.com, on September 30.
This fantastic baby shower starts at 9:59 am and finishes at 11:59 pm EST.
Parents can visit the site and join Melissa in discussions and games, and there are prizes on offer, too!
It’s a good idea to visit ParentsConnect.com, because the site will post a new “official game” thread every hour on the hour until the last game at 5 pm EST.
Each game stays up for one hour, and during that hour, you can guess as many times as you want. The more guesses you make, the better chance there is of winning! Sounds fun!
Congratulations Melissa! And thanks for sharing your good news in such a generous way.
Mass Baby Shower in Michigan

Courtland Center Mall in Burton, Michigan, played host to literally hundreds of families who attended a huge, free baby shower on Saturday.
The event is organized by Genesee County Great Start Parent Coalition, and is its third annual Free Baby Shower, so far.
More than 1,500 people attended the community-wide event.
Designed to educate parents about the many resources available in the community that will help them provide a safe and healthy start for their children, the big-scale baby shower is more than free food and drink: it is a genuine community resource for new and soon-to-be parents.
Kids can receive free developmental, dental, vision, hearing, asthma, and lead screenings. There were free blood pressure checks for adults, too. Obviously, a baby shower has to be fun, too, so face-painting, balloon animals and a magic show were provided for the children.
Several child-based community services and three hospitals were at the event to let parents have access to care resources.
We at Baby Shower Wording And More applaud the organizers and wish them every success in future.
Mariah Carey: Is She, Or Isn’t She?

Mariah Carey, the mega-star who has sold more than 175 million albums, singles and videos worldwide, is pregnant! Or is she?
Rumors abound – and it certainly looks likely – that Mariah really is pregnant, but the star is remaining quite enigmatic:
“I appreciate everyone’s well wishes. But I am very superstitious,” she wrote on her website. “When the time is right, everyone will know.”
Good luck Mariah – we are thinking of you.
This is her best collection of songs.
Mariah Carey ruled the charts and this two-disc collection offers up evidence why, for better or worse, Mariah’s five-octave, pop/R&B stylings set the diva standard. Greatest Hits culls its offerings from Carey’s five albums on Sony (she is now signed to Virgin), and you get all the facets of her platinum-plus sound. From the soulful smolder of her 1990 debut “Vision of Love” (still one of her best tracks) to the coyer-than-thou duet with Jay Z (“Heartbreaker”), Carey thrills, trills, and hits notes that only canines comprehend. Fans will gobble this collection up. –Amy Linden

Kelly Preston’s Baby Shower

Kelly Preston, wife of Hollywood giant John Travolta, is expecting the couple’s third child and celebrated with a Baby Shower at the Beverly Hills Peninsula hotel on Friday, August 13.
Kelly had 30 guests and all had high tea & finger sandwiches, scones and cakes.
“Kelly received gorgeous gifts, and each guest made her an individual baby bib at the table and signed their names. It was very sentimental.”, said an insider.
John and Kelly are currently considering living on the shore of Keuka Lake, New York, and seem keen to set up home there before baby Travolta arrives.
We wish Kelly and John all the very best.
P.S. My boyfriend, Karl, thinks John Travolta was just supreme in From Paris With Love!
Look Baby it’s you! A boy for Dannii Minogue

Many congratulations to Dannii Minogue who gave birth to a baby boy on 5th July. She is calling him Ethan which, amongst other things, means strength and firmness. So it looks like Mom may have her hands full from the word go – after all he doesn’t know she’s famous yet!
I wonder if Dannii will show Ethan the photos of the Baby Shower held in his honor when he gets a little older? Maybe she’ll point to her bump and say “Hey Baby, look it’s you”. It must be so nice to look back at photos of a shower held in your honor, and is a good reason for taking lots of photos on the day.
Good luck to both Mom and Baby and I’m so pleased that Dannii held such a lovely shower before he arrived, so that Ethan will know that he was a very wanted and much loved baby from the start.

I really like this:
A baby shower is often the most fun event during an expectant mother’s pregnancy. It’s a great way to celebrate the coming of a new baby! Baby showers should be a joyful and memorable time, not just for the mom-to-be, but for the guests as well. Planning a baby shower shouldn’t be all that complicated, though it does require some thought and consideration.
Baby shower favors are items which should be considered when having a shower. They are a great way to thank the guests, family and friends, for celebrating with the mother during her time of joy. Here are some unique and fun baby shower favor ideas to get you started:

And They Call It Puppy Love – The New Trend For Puppy Showers
June 24, 2010 by Keira
There is a new trend for people who are getting a new dog to hold “Puppy Shower” parties for them. I have noticed, in the course of my work as a Baby Shower organizer, that I am being approached more and more about this type of event. And why not? Dogs can certainly become part of one’s family very quickly. It seems quite natural to me that folks would want to celebrate a four-legged friend joining their family unit.
The Puppy Shower can also serve a useful practical purpose by allowing the dog to become accustomed to social situations – very useful for timid dogs.
As well as individual families arranging parties for their pooches, it would also seem that dog charities are using Puppy Showers to raise the profile of the work that they do, and to encourage donations. For instance, I noticed that the Service Dogs of Virginia is hosting a Puppy Shower in July to welcome their newest arrivals.
Whilst I will be sticking to Baby Showers, any event that puts love, caring and appreciation at the heart of it can only be a good thing.
Congratulations to Kevin and Christine Costner!

Congratulations to Kevin (55) and Christine (36) Costner on the birth of their baby girl, Grace Avery, on June 2nd. Grace is Kevin’s 7th child.
The Baby Shower held in advance of Grace’s arrival was a pink-themed one, held at The Four Seasons Hotel in Santa Barbara on April 11th.
Although the food served was exotic, with such items as scallion caper salsa on the menu, Christine seemed to emphasize the intimate nature of the day, when she said:
“It was an intimate, special day, celebrating my close family and friends …everyone left with a big smile.2
It just goes to show: no matter how famous the couple, what matters most at any baby shower is not the glitz and glamor, but the love at the heart of it.
Spring: what a lovely time to celebrate new life with an April Shower!
Enjoy your summer baby Mr and Mrs Costner.
The Bodyguard stars Whitney Houston as a pop-music diva and Kevin Costner as the ultra-serious bodyguard assigned to protect her in the aftermath of several death threats. Initially repelled by each other like water and oil, a passion ignites between them as the danger increases, transforming them as everything around them explodes!

Baby Shower News: Dannii Minogue
June 2, 2010 by Keira
It looks like 2010 really is The Year Of The Baby Shower!
I blogged recently about Danielle Lloyd’s baby shower, saying that where Danielle has led, others will follow. Well, I hadn’t expected things to heat up so quickly! I am delighted to announce that Dannii Minogue has also held a baby shower! Dannii is expecting her baby in July, and recently told reporters, “I reckon it’s going to be early. Kris and I can’t wait.” Like every mom-to-be, Dannii will have found that the final month, or two, of pregnancy can be a very tiring and emotionally-charged time. A baby shower can be a very affirming experience for the mom-to-be, especially when held close to the expected birth date.
Dannii’s shower was held at her fabulous house in Melbourne, Australia. It was a real family affair, with tea and traditional baby shower games, and Dannii, so all reports agree, looked radiant in a wonderful orange outfit.
One of the games played at Dannii’s shower may well have been Baby Shower Bingo, which is always a favorite. However, unbeknown to Dannii, elsewhere real high-stakes gambling was under-way: online gambling sites are reporting that betting on Dannii’s baby’s name is big business! If you fancy a flutter, then favorite picks for names for the baby are Carol, at 6-1, if it’s agirl, and Ronald, at 12-1, for a boy. These are safer bets, as they are Dannii’s parents’ names. Other names from the backgrounds of Dannii and her boyfriend are Lily 8-1, along with Isabella and Chloe.
If, like Dannii, you want Bingo at your baby shower, then check this out:
Baby Shower Bingo is a fun Baby Shower game for your party! Game includes 15 bingo cards, 77 player markers, 40 caller markers and 1 calling card. Cards feature images of baby bottles, rattles, pacifiers, rubber duckys and more.
